Projects and notes

What projects do

Keep everything about one piece of work together. A project groups related conversations and holds its own reference documents, notes, and custom instructions, so context you set up once carries across every conversation inside it.

Open a project from the projects view, the folder icon on the left on desktop or its own tab on mobile, to see its conversations, files, and notes in one view, and to start a new conversation that begins with the project's context already in place.

Custom instructions

Say it once instead of retyping it in every conversation. Project instructions are standing context the AI sees in every conversation in the project: who the work is for, constraints that always apply, the style you want.

Edit them from the project view. Instructions add context on top of whichever thinking mode a conversation uses; the mode still sets how the AI engages with each prompt.

Project documents

Give the AI reference material to draw on. Upload documents to a project and the AI searches them when answering questions in that project's conversations. When a response uses them, it lists the sources that contributed, so you can see where an answer came from.

This is different from attaching a file in chat: a chat attachment is context for that one conversation, while project documents stay available to every conversation in the project.

Notes

Keep the useful part of a response before it scrolls away. Choose Save to note under any message: the note opens pre-filled with the message text and a suggested title, and you can trim or rewrite it before saving.

Notes belong to your account rather than a single conversation. Create a note inside a project to file it there, or attach an existing one from the project view; every note also stays available from the notes view, the sticky-note icon on the left on desktop or Notes under Menu on mobile. Edit any note in Markdown, with a preview toggle to see the formatting rendered.

Ask the AI to save notes

Ask the AI to save something and it writes the note for you, titled and filed to your account. Try “save these energy calculations as a note” after a response works out the numbers, and the note is waiting for you in the notes view.

You can ask it to edit a note too, to add a figure you worked out later or tidy up the wording. The AI creates or changes a note only when you ask it to in the conversation, and every note it writes is yours to open, edit, or delete like any other.

Favorites

Keep what you return to often one click away. Star a conversation, project, or note and it appears in the favorites view, the star icon on the left on desktop or the Favorites tab on mobile.
