Web Sustainability & What's New
See what changed on the What's new page
Find it in the site menu and footer.
The home page downloads less
Screenshots load only as you reach them.
Transparency page says more about each provider
Electricity source and water use for each provider.
Smaller changes: secondary text easier to read in the dark theme, deleting your account signs you out everywhere, the Transparency page shows this site's sustainability grade
Live Answers & Claude 5.5
Answers appear as they're written
You see the answer, and each step in progress, while it is being built.
Advanced tier gets updated Claude models
Claude Haiku 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 bring cost savings, quicker responses, and improved reasoning. The savings let us raise the Advanced tier's monthly Haiku allowance 4x, from 1 million to 4 million tokens, with no price change.
Worth knowing
Haiku conversations are limited to about 100,000 tokens
At that point, start a new conversation, or automatic summarization may take place to respect the upper limit.
Claude chats show higher energy estimates
Sonnet's estimate rose; Haiku 5.5 counts more tokens per word.
Reasoning switch works with Green Large
Turning reasoning on can make answers slower and use more tokens and energy.
Search, Diagrams & Performance
The app opens web pages only where sites allow it
The AI is told to say when a page won't open.
A failed web search now says so
Downloaded diagram PNGs have a white background
Dark lines no longer vanish on dark slides.
Smaller changes: lighter page loads, the app stays responsive during PDF export, the Product updates switch shows when saving fails, declining analytics skips the analytics download
Diagram Quality & Privacy
Ask for the chart type you want
Green models now draw Venn diagrams, 2x2 quadrant charts, Sankey flows, fishbone diagrams and timelines when you ask for them.
Diagrams are easier to read
Stronger chart colors, and tall diagrams show at their own size.
Diagrams draw more reliably
Diagrams are never sent to an outside service
Drawing them ourselves gives us more control and better privacy.
Smaller changes: 14 rarely used diagram formats are retired, the drawing examples page shows real answers, a failed profile load keeps you signed in, no stray quote marks in diagram labels
Diagram and chat fixes
Patch
Diagram labels are no longer cut off
Claude's charts show their data
A failed message isn't saved
You stay signed in when chats fail to load
Smaller changes: a stuck diagram gives up after about a minute, a rejected Claude request says so instead of switching models, ASCII-art diagrams are retired
Reliable Diagrams & Project Memory
Diagrams draw reliably again
Most diagrams now draw on a server we run ourselves.
Worth knowing
Chats in a project can use the project's other chats
The AI can use relevant parts of your other conversations in the same project, listed under "This project" in its sources. It covers messages sent after this update and any chat you move into a project.
Every diagram the AI draws now shows
Tidier diagram layouts
Short labels, no overlapping text, readable Gantt chart dates.
Smaller changes: the privacy policy names our hosting providers, full-screen diagrams size correctly, the AI says when it can't read a file, Back no longer reloads the page, deleted accounts are fully removed, Claude answers after a web search

Worth knowing
Unconfirmed accounts land on the confirmation page
Signing in before confirming your email now opens the check-your-email page, which can resend the link. The installed app does the same.
Back after sign-out returns to the login page
Web Search Tools & Message Box
More ways to use web search results
Each result has a menu (Explore, Research, Fact check, Evaluate source) that starts a prompt from it, and a Copy control for its search terms. Ask the assistant to summarize a result page and the summary appears under the result.
Message box grows with what you write
Three sizes, from one line to nearly full screen, with a chevron to switch between them.
A menu on each project row
New chat, note or file upload, without opening the project.
Smaller changes: prices in math expressions display correctly, the profile page shows your access end date after you cancel
Chat and voice fixes
Patch
The installed app's Voice shortcut keeps listening
A conversation that fails to load offers Try again
The message box stays open in a new chat
Smaller changes: the homepage stays put on a phone, the message box lines up with Send
Maintenance & Polish
Patch
New chats start on a model your plan covers
Clearer shortcut icons on the installed app
Voice moved up, so Android's long-press list shows it.
Smaller changes: signed in, you can stay on the homepage, refusal messages name your plan correctly, a crisper app icon
Voice Input
Speak instead of typing, on every plan
Tap the microphone, talk, and edit the words before sending. Dictation stops after about two minutes, or twenty seconds of quiet. Audio is transcribed in the EU and not kept.
Worth knowing
Automatic research is now on by default
Automatic research lets the AI search the web on its own. It was switched on for existing accounts too; turn it off on your profile page or in the + sheet.
Hide web search or the microphone
Choose in the + sheet; each device keeps its own choice.
Reasoning remembers your choice
A new account setting turns it on by default.
Smaller changes: updated theme colors

Sharing Safeguards & Performance
Anyone can report a shared page
A Flag this page control, no sign-in needed.
Pages load faster
Public pages arrive with their text in place, and opening a conversation sends far less data. The chat page's main content arrives about a quarter sooner.
Shared pages show the conversation's energy use
Exported PDFs carry the same line.
Scrolling back stays put when a reply arrives
Smaller changes: diagrams draw in temporary chats, messages no longer vanish when you switch chats, restored favorites reappear at once, readable badges and visible keyboard focus
Conversation Sharing
Share a conversation with a link
Anyone with the link can read it without an account. The page is a snapshot: messages you send later don't appear.
Turn off any shared link
The Shared links card on your profile lists them all.
Shared pages leave out your name and files
Search results become a summary, and search engines are kept out.
How we estimate energy, explained
A new page at /methodology, including what we're unsure of.
Smaller changes: the comparison page cites the current methodology, links to the energy formula work again
Out of Beta
Out of beta
The Beta badge is gone; the logo and icons are redrawn.
The installed app has a Search shortcut
Model picker scrolls to every option
